Erica Domesek: DIY at its Finest

I love DIY fashion and I make sure to follow several DIY blogs to keep up with the latest do-it-yourself trends. Without a doubt, the queen of DIY fashion is Erica Domesek, founder of PS I Made This…. Erica is a design and style expert based in New York City who has taken the concept of DIY and transformed it into a successful business. I love the layout of her projects. Each project features a cool moodboard along with step-by-step instructions to ensure that her style is easy to achieve. PS I Made This… has inspired a hit book and Erica has partnered with various brands like Swarovski, Who What Wear, and Tory Burch to create unique and fashionable clothing, accessories, and jewelry. Here are some of my favorite PS I Made This… projects!

Trendspotting: Attachment Jewelry

The latest trend in jewelry is attachment jewelry. Necklaces & earrings and rings & bracelets are being fused into one unique adornment. One style of attachment jewelry I am partial to is the toe chain anklet. Anklets and toe rings are traditional jewelry styles for women in India, but these styles have been updated for modern style by being fused together. You can spruce up a simple pair of sandals with a toe chain anklet. Or if you plan on being barefoot a lot this summer a toe chain anklet is a great way to keep your feet stylish!

Trendspotting: Bejeweled Tresses

One of my favorite ways to kick up a hairstyle is with bling! Bejeweled hair accessories are very trendy right now. They are a fun way to add some fun to your look for day or to liven up a chic evening look.

This Charlotte Russe crystal flower headband is adorable! The soft pink is a lovely color and the accented rhinestones really stand out.

These rhinestone bow clips from Forever 21 are great! They are a small way to make a statement with your look.

These purple and gold Swarovski bobby pins are stunning! They are a splurge but these pins would surely bling out your style.

Add Some Shimmer to your Shadow

My latest beauty obsession is all about glitter. I love gold eye shadow and this Topshop crayon is beautiful. These crayons come in several metallic colors but Sunshower is the best. It’s very easy to use and can be applied thick as an eye shadow or thin as an eyeliner. I highly recommend this gorgeous shimmery eye crayon from Topshop!

The Other Girl on Fire

In the last few months, I have become quite obsessed with the Hunger Games. The books are fantastic and I especially love the futuristic fashion of the citizens of Panem’s Capitol. The film’s premiere was just a few days ago and there was a lot of great fashion on the red carpet. Jennifer Lawrence stunned in a gold Prabal Gurung gown, but Elizabeth Banks’ outfit was my favorite. Inspired by her character in the movie, Effie Trinket, she wore a bright orange Versace Couture mini dress and accessorized with gold accessories.

Elizabeth’s red carpet look is pretty pricey, but this electrifying outfit can be recreated for much less!

Asymmetric Embellished Chiffon Dress: $39

Chinese Laundry Triple Major Platform Pumps: $69

Jessica McClintock Clutch: $48

Kenneth Jay Lane Agate Cocktail Ring: $41

The grand total for Elizabeth Banks’ vibrant red carpet look is…$197.00!

Whose red carpet style inspires you?
